About the event
Unicorn Grocery, based in Chorlton, South Manchester, offers an unbeatable range of affordable, fresh and wholesome food with an emphasis on organic, fair-trade and local produce. Its focus is on ingredients for tasty, interesting and really affordable cooking; produce that nourishes and isn’t laden with sugar, salt and additives. They are a ‘bricks and mortar’ store; that just trades in the shop, not online. As a workers’ co-operative the shop is owned by people who work in it.
Unicorn was established by a small group of people committed to social change, who had a vision for the kind of shop that they wanted to shop in themselves. A place where wholesome tasty food, sourced with care, would be sold at affordable prices. A shop owned and run by motivated owner-members following a shared social and environmental agenda.
They used as a blueprint two co-ops in the south of England; Daily Bread Northampton and Daily Bread Cambridge, whose model revolved around direct, bulk purchasing of wholesome foods, processed on site, and priced competitively with the supermarkets. (Bob get's all his basics from Daily Bread).

Are there people in Kingston who've got the energy and dedication to do the same here?
