About the event
The Hive will be going to the  "The Big One" and joining organisations such as Green Peace, Friends of The Earth, Cafod, Global Justice Now and many other groups in demandingÂ
- A citizen-led democracy to end the fossil fuel era.
- A fair society that includes reparation.
Where we will share with the government department Kingston Hive's views onÂ
Air Quality
Air pollution represents a significant threat to the health of Kingston's residents and those who work in the borough. It both contributes to instances of and exacerbates the symptoms of illnesses such as asthma, COPD and lung cancer. Additionally, the impacts of poor air quality are disproportionately felt by the very young, the very old, the poor and those with preexisting health conditions. Ultimately though, everyone in our borough will be negatively impacted in some way by air pollution.
Flood Risks
Based on the EA’s UK climate change projections for peak river flow and peak rainfall intensity, it is expected that climate change will place a greater number of people, properties and infrastructure at risk of main river flooding in Kingston Upon Thames. The frequency and severity of main river flooding will increase, increasing the need for flood defence and mitigation measures for the River Thames, the River Hogsmill, the Surbiton Stream and the Beverley Brook.
We can bring about change
Every single person makes us collectively more powerful, and makes our voices harder for the Government to ignore. Just imagine what thousands of us working together could do.
