About the event

Kingston Museum's Saxon Fayre focuses on daily life, diving into the work and methods people used during this period, ranging from animal husbandry to working metals and how that relates to the skills we have today.

The event itself will showcase skills and trades in stalls around the Ancient Market Place. Including a mobile farm, a working Saxon inspired forge, leather work, flax spinning - which some of our Hive members have been involved in through the Fabric of Society and Kingston Flax and Fibre projects - beekeeping, a falcon display and even a place where you can dress up in period outfits.

This fun-filled and family friendly day will have lots of music, performances, re-enactments and demonstrations throughout!
