About the event

The CEE is a child protection issue - children are uniquely vulnerable to the threats posed by climate breakdown. So a group of professionals working in child protection and safeguarding have come together to form CCPAST (the Climate Child Protection and Safeguarding Team), which supports parents, safeguarders and local authorities to look at child protection through the lens of climate and ecological breakdown. Ruth Allen, a co-founder of CCPAST, will discuss climate risks to children and how safeguarders can use the tools that already exist to protect them (the first climate-related child protection referral in the UK was made earlier this year). Join us for a thought-provoking presentation, with time for questions and discussion.

CCPAST helps anyone involved in safeguarding apply the legal child protection framework to address harms/ risks in the child's  environment- their community- and a structure and process to mitigate and adapt. Visit climatechildprotection.org for more info.
